For GCSE families in Pimlico & beyond

Let’s work through
the maths that
isn’t clicking.

If your child gets stuck with GCSE maths, I’ll start with the part they find difficult. We’ll work through it together, then give them a chance to try a question on their own.

A focused way to start

Where does it
stop making sense?

We’ll start there. Looking at how your child approaches a question helps me understand what to explain and what needs practice.

01

Find the sticking point

We look at a recent question and how your child worked through it.

02

Work through it together

I explain the idea, we tackle an example together, then your child tries a similar question independently.

03

Choose what to practise next

A short recap and a few focused questions help your child revisit what we covered.

Try an example

Understanding before speed.

I’ll ask your child to explain each step. Here’s a simple example of what that looks like.

Illustrative GCSE-style example
3x + 7 = 22
What would you undo first?
See the explanation

Subtract 7 from both sides: 3x = 15. Then divide both sides by 3: x = 5. Check it in the original equation: 3 × 5 + 7 = 22. Next, try 4x + 3 = 19 and explain each step aloud.

The lesson offer

A lesson built around
what needs practice.

First, we’ll talk about your child’s year group, what they find difficult and what they want help with. If I can help, we’ll agree a topic for the first lesson.

Start with one paid lesson and decide whether to continue. There’s no long package to sign up for, and I won’t promise a particular grade.

About me
Natanael Mota

Natanael Mota

I’m Natanael. I have a physics MSc from Surrey and spent 13 months on a technical project at CERN. In my work building products and solving technical problems, I break difficult problems into smaller steps that I can test.

More about my background ↗

Good to know.

Which exam boards and tiers do you cover?

Tell me the exam board, year group and Foundation or Higher tier when we speak. We’ll confirm what I can cover before you book a paid lesson.

Can you promise a particular grade?

No. Grades depend on many factors, including practice and exam performance. We can agree what to work on and review understanding through questions and explanations.

Is the free call a lesson?

It’s a 20-minute conversation with a parent or guardian about what your child needs and whether I can help. It isn’t a tutoring lesson.

Can my child book directly?

A parent or guardian should make the booking and agree arrangements for any learner under 18. Please do not share school records or sensitive information in the booking email.
