Here’s a simple way to connect what happens in a circuit to the calculation.

There’s a voltage of 12 V across a 4 Ω resistor.

Work it through
Voltage = current × resistance, so I = V ÷ R = 12 ÷ 4 = 3 A. At the same voltage, doubling the resistance to 8 Ω halves the current to 1.5 A. The equation describes a relationship, not just a calculation.

About me
Natanael Mota
My background is in physics: a BSc from King’s College London, an MSc from Surrey and a 13-month technical project at CERN. I want to help students connect the physical idea with the reasoning needed to use it.

Separate physics or combined science?
Tell me the qualification and exam board when we speak. We’ll confirm the physics content and tier before agreeing lessons.
Do you cover practical skills?
We can discuss the ideas behind required practicals and work through questions on data, graphs and experiments. Online tuition does not replace supervised practical work.
Can you help with the maths too?
We can work through the maths used in the physics topic, including units, substitution and rearranging. Broader maths support can be discussed separately.
What happens on the free call?
We’ll spend 20 minutes talking with a parent or guardian about the learner’s course and what they need help with. You don’t have to book a paid lesson afterwards.
